A-Filter

Type A constitutes a completely closed backflushable, self-discharging filter. It is used where the clear filtrate represents the product. On completion of the filtration, the residual volume remaining in the filter vessel can be filtered out using residual volume filtration. For the removal of the filter cake the filter package is rotated and the solids are thrown off the filter elements by the centrifugal force. Simultaneously the fabric is cleaned by backflushing with the clear phase or another washing liquid.
